Welcome to World Of Warcraft Tips and Tricks!

My name is Ryan (MaceToFace on WOW)! I built this blog to help other WoW players get the most from the game. I started playing WoW when I was 15, with the vanilla version. Since then I’ve built over 25 level 80 and 2 level 85 characters. It took me a long time, but I learned a lot and had a lot of fun along the way. I also have epic flyers on amost all of my level 85s and 5,000 gold on each character still! I’ve even earned myself an albino drake and the netherdrake on my characters which takes some dedication.

I built this blog to share what I’ve learned with other WOW players, and to have a place that we can all share and learn from each other, as well as to let you know about new tips and tricks I learn as I play. Take a look around, and please comment and share your thoughts and experiences in playing WOW here by commenting below and on the posts.

Also, I’ve put 17 of my BEST tips and tricks in to a FREE special report you can get just by entering your e-mail in the box on the right. It’s 5 pages of the hottest, coolest, most awesome strategies that I’ve used to build multiple level 80 characters and totally dominate WOW whenever I play. The tips help you find and save your hard earned gold and keep you alive longer where others fall short. It has helped me become one of the most feared and respected players on WoW today. It’s yours for free as my gift to you to help you get the most from playing WoW yourself.

Thanks,

Ryan

I stole the video from their website. Shhh ;)

So I’ve been getting lots of emails from the guys (and maybe gals?) at Dugi and Zygor guides and BOTH of them have new stuff coming out.

Both of the new addon updates have a WAY better quest line which shaves off even more time from your leveling time and also they’ve input every single quest in the game so you can get the Loremaster achievement. You get a cool tabard and title that barely anyone has when you do this achievement. I’ll be sticking to my Ambassador Macetoface because it sounds awesome.

Personally, I’ve used the Zygor guides myself and chopped of 2 days of played time from 1-85 on my leveling. Two full days of played time is a lot to a college student taking 7 classes. Not only that, but I hate using addons in World of Warcraft because I feel that it’s cheating the game experience and more honestly I think they are for noobs. This adon is really low-key and doesn’t interfere at all with the game. Also, I pvp all the time and so I like not having to relog to adjust the visibility of my adons. This adon tucks away by hitting the “x” like usual on the quest log itself. Pretty cool.

I haven’t used the Dugi guide yet myself, but seeing as the two guides are in direct competition for the same bit, they must both be pretty similar. Probably the deciding factor would be personal preference. Also, Dugi’s guide is releasing a dungeon leveling guide which should be really cool. I’ll talk about that in another post though.

My only problem with the guide was that it doesn’t really like you doing dungeons in between quests and gets mixed up when you level too early.

As of this post, it doesn’t come out until 1 day and 10 hours, but you should still definitely check it out because I promise you it will save you time.

In trying to integrate cool awesome facebook commenting on my posts, I seem to have messed up the entire bottom of my posts. Sweet!

So between Spring Break and the new Rebecca Black song “Friday” I probably won’t be fixing my site for a few days.

Don’t hold it against me.

I’m sorry!

So you’ve purchased World of Warcraft and you’ve gotten pretty decent at it. If you want to reach the next level, I implore you to throw away your track-ball mouse you’ve inherited from the Smithsonian. Although getting new computer gear may not seem like a huge deal, this can help you soo much in the long run when you start to get REALLY serious about the game.

Better gear will immediately reduce your misclicks and typos because a better mouse has a higher DPI (dots per inch). This basically means that your mouse can read “x” amount of dots per inch and a higher number is “better.” I say “better” because some DPI is too high for what World of Warcraft requires. My current mouse goes up to 4000 DPI which is kind of ridiculous for World of Warcraft, but when I play games like Counter Strike or Call of Duty: Black Ops, I need to turn around as quickly as possible. Also, when you use a laser mouse… no more cleaning that crap off the ball in the mouse! Yayyyy!

I personally got a back-lit keyboard for two reasons.

1. It matches my blue-glowing computer and my blue-glowing mouse and looks generally badass as hell.

2. I like to play at night a lot because I got to college and work during the day.

Obviously, a backlit keyboard isn’t necessary unless you wanna look like a total champ in front of your friends and a total loser in front of your girlfriend (she won’t understand). Later in the game when/if you get into PVP (if you have a penis) you will need to completely change your clicking habits and start using new keybinds on your keyboard (I’ll go into in a later post) and your mouse to move around and turn.

You can probably get away with not having decent equipment up until level 85 dungeons where you will DEFINITELY need a new mouse.

I personally use the Razer Lachesis, but the Logitech MX518 has been used at all the gaming competitions since the dawn of time.

World Of Warcraft Tips and Tricks – Ignoring Dungeon Trolls/Haters

This post is basically to help you ignore the haters you encounter during dungeons so you can get back to leveling and worry less about what some massive nerd in his grandma’s closet tells you is “right.” I get told all the time that I’m not wearing the right gear or that I’m a fail tank and then I look down at the dps meter and they are last.

So I level with cloth heirloom shoulders, who cares? I leveled with those level 1-80 cloth shoulder pads on my paladin all the way up to level 80 because 10% xp increase is better than 500 armor or whatever it works out to be. 500 armor accounts for probably 1% damage reduction. If the healer is being saved because of the 1% damage reduction you’re missing, than the healer has problems.

I also don’t care that they were meant for casters. Yeah, I’m doing melee dps with cloth shoulders with intellect and spirit. I’m also doing twice the dps than the runner up… oh yeah, and I’m tanking and maintaining aggro. Have I died? Have you grabbed aggro? Has anyone else in the group died? No? So what are you bitching about?

“You’re prot, you’re supposed to use a one-handed and a shield.” This isn’t a level 85 dungeon and that doesn’t matter. I personally leveled my paladin from 1-58 as ret and tanked dungeons the whole way through maintaining aggro and doing the most dps out of the group consistently. The only reason I switched to prot at 58 is because I started solo questing large mobs for more xp than dungeons give you.

When you break it down, the only difference between ret and prot is that prot has cheaper mana spells from talents and a tiny bit more stamina which is negligible in lower level dungeons in the first place. I guess what I’m trying to say is, if you ain’t dyin’, don’t complain’. Keep these points at hand when someone starts to give you problems about your choices in a dungeon!

Ever since the original World of Warcraft game came out, diehard fans have been studying the fastest ways to level, and dungeon leveling is the latest and greatest technique for power leveling quickly. The dungeon finder tool makes it easy for both Alliance and Horde players to level their WoW characters almost entirely inside of the game’s dungeons.

Dungeon leveling is very simple. It basically involves using the dungeon finder button located at the bottom of your action bard toward the right side of your screen (or pressing “i”). The button looks like a small green eye. You aren’t able to use the dungeon finder until you reach level 15, but you might want to wait one extra level and begin using it after you train your level 16 skills from your class trainer. When you’re ready to try dungeon leveling, just click the dungeon finder button to begin looking for a group. Then all you have to do is sit back, relax, and watch the levels fly by!

You may find it to be very helpful to run solo quests while you’re waiting for your dungeon group to form, especially if you’re one of the DPS, or damage, classes. Healers probably wait for about 5 minutes per dungeon queue. Tanks might as well skip the queue button and instead have just join group because they don’t have to wait literally for over 5 seconds.

One thing you should never overlook when you’re power leveling your way through the dungeon system is the quests. Quests have always been a major part of leveling in World of Warcraft, and they will give you a huge boost when you’re instance leveling through the dungeons. It’s easy to avoid doing the quests that go with each dungeon, but you’ll be missing out on a lot of great gear and experience points by not doing them. Dungeon quests award double the experience of solo quests do, which means dungeon leveling will help you power level even faster than simply picking and choosing the right solo quests to do.

The only problem with doing all the dungeon quests is that it can be difficult to figure out where to pick up all those quests. Dungeon leveling will take you all around the WoW map, and trying to figure out where the quest pickups are for each dungeon can take a lot of work. This may be a good reason to invest in a dungeon leveling guide like Dugi’s. Traditional leveling guides were developed long before the dungeon finder system became part of World of Warcraft, but Dugi’s Dungeon Leveling Guide was developed specifically for the WoW player who wants to power level through the dungeons. It covers all the dungeons for the Cataclysm expansion. A good dungeon leveling guide will tell you where to pick up the dungeon quests, what level you should be when you pick them up, and where to turn them in afterward.

Instance leveling is truly a great way to power level your character, and you’ll probably even discover dozens of Classic and Burning Crusade dungeons you’ve never played before. Why not try dungeon leveling and see how quickly you can power level?
